In February 2020 Kavana Films' documentary, Sign At All Times: A Film about Brian Estrada, won first place in the short film category at The International Sports Press Association Media Awards. The AIPS Media Awards are the highest international accolade in the sport media industry and received 1,754 submissions from 125 different countries. Press release here.
The other top films in the shorts category were produced by NBC Sports and The Olympic Channel. Leibman Production's film was a passion project for Andrew and combined his love of skateboarding and filmmaking into one production. The film was originally published by Thrasher Magazine, the largest skateboarding media outlet.
In his acceptance speech Noam encouraged the audience, full of filmmakers, photographers, and journalists, to go out and tell the stories they want to see using whatever resources they have, and without waiting for the perfect opportunity from someone else.
In January 2018 Kavana Films documentary, Rooftop Refuge, was featured on National Geographic's Short Film Showcase.
